A beach escape in Uruguay

Feel like you need to get away from it all this Monday morning?! I could certainly find solace at this beautiful retreat in Cabo Polonio, Uruguay. The home is 7km from the nearest road and accessible only by walking along the dunes or by 4 x 4. It has no electricity or running water (water is obtained from a well or collected rain water). I asked the photographer, Javier Csecs to describe how he felt on the shoot:

"That moment, when arrived at the cottage in Cabo Polonio, Uruguay, was so impressive that everything came easily, the atlantic ocean air, the hot summer sun, sand everyway you look, all do the magic. The owner was talking about the style and details like how decide decoration, but I just relax and let the feelings guide the camera, as if I lived there." Javier Csecs.

Could you stay somewhere like this? Live even? It certainly is a beautiful home with spectactular views!
Happy Monday morning to you folks!

A beautiful home shot by Peter Kragballe

Iiiiit's Friday folks! And while the rest of Sweden are preparing for 'Fredagsmys' (cosy Friday) I'm drooling over interior images by the wonderful interiors photographer Peter Kragballe who has shot for British magazines such as Elle Decoration UK. I'm loving this home in particular. Any guesses why?!

I particularly love the sudden flash of yellow on the mirror frame. I'm wondering if I should do this in my home - a sudden unexpected pop of neon perhaps?!

Have a lovely weekend!

Hello hallway!

Let's face it, it's kind of nice when a friend comes into your home and says 'wow'! right there in the doorway. So I'm taking my inspiration from these monochrome hallways. I've just got to get rid of the pram, the hundred pairs of shoes, the tricycle, the wet brollies. Um.

So, here's to a 'hello hallway' and a welcoming home...some day in the future! A few lovely details here don't you think? I'm coveting the mosaic floor.

PS I absolutely looove the Cavern Tapestry 'arrow' wallpaper in the first picture and it's hand silk-screened and eco friendly don't you know?!

A tranquil white space in Bergen

All hail white spaces! So calm, so pretty, so scandinavian. And this home in Bergen, Norway does it so well, with a perfect hint of antique rose, green, beige and cognac hues.

IKEA Family Live

I love the touches of IKEA too (well, I did track this home in Ikea Family Live after all) it makes the look that little more achievable. Check out the personalised Celeber IKEA storage jars in the last picture for example.

And we all know that if we pop down to our nearest branch we can enjoy some meatballs and mash for lunch too - bonus!

If you fancy a little more home tour inspiration today (silly question?!) I firmly recommend taking a peek at the latest posts from La Maison D'Anna G and Mechant Design. 'Underbara!'

Amy Azzarito from Design Sponge via Today You Inspired Me
I spy elements of IKEA (the black and white rug unde the dining room table) a Smeg fridge, (what colour would you choose?!) the utensilo storage, plus many little touches of Scandinavian design.

This little Helsinki haven will make my heart sing all the way back to Sweden today!

A vintage inspired home in Brussels

Hej hooo! Hope you had a lovely Easter. I'm still recovering from the sugar shock but it was wonderful to spend time with my family in the 'Big Smoke!' That's probably why I'm so into Children's rooms today and just had to share the Brussels home of the British designer behind children's clothing brand Cotton and Milk, Justine Glanfield and her husband, French photographer Vincent Fournier. You kind of know that such a creative force would be the perfect recipe for a truly inspiring home...

Milk Magazine, Photographer: Louise Desrosiers
I love this home because, yes, it's mainly white and of course the great mid-century feel of the dining room but most of all because I have a real penchant for vintage inspired children's rooms (if you follow my 'kids space' board on Pinterest you'd almost certainly have noticed the running theme!).

Such a wonderful home.
A special 'hej hej!' to all my new readers. It's great to see you on here! If you have a mo leave a comment and say hi! It's always fun to share thoughts and read other blogs.

A vintage inspired photography studio

I'm off to London in a mo to visit family for the Easter holidays - so excited! Hopefully you'll all be shutting down, switching off and scoffing lots of chocolate somewhere too? Just before I go I wanted to share the beautiful vintage inspired studio of Vickey Weiss in Minnesota. So many details, so many lovely things....and light!

Pictures: Vickey Weiss

Thank you Vickey, for letting me use your lovely photos! I'm not sure I'd need a holiday if I worked somewhere like this....

Happy Easter everyone, have a lovely weekend!
