A cool Copenhagen apartment in unexpected colours

Hello Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. Have you ever been to Copenhagen? It really is the most fantastic city - and I'm not just biased because I live over the bridge, honest! The Danes have such a great sense of style and take great pride in ensuring this comes through in everything they do whether it's decor, cooking or creating. The Copenhagen home of Caroline, Patrik and their three children (photographed by Iben Kaufmann) is a great example of this natural flair although not typical of the usual Danish apartments we've seen on here. It's full of surprise colours which adds a real sense of fun and a relaxed family atmosphere.  Very cool...

This home makes me want to expirement more and play with colours in my house - how about you?

Before I shoot of and let you enjoy the start of your week....I'd like to introduce a new Danish sponsor which I am so happy to recommend: Silke Bonde. Silke Bonde creates and sells wonderful prints for the home. I particularly love the Racoon poster (I have this one myself and never tire of it!) and cute little chick poster. Oh so Scandinavian cool.

Have a wonderful start to the week and see you Wednesday!

The idyllic lake-side Danish summer cottage

Do you prefer to stay at home or go abroad for your summer holiday? When the days are long and it never gets truly dark at night in Scandinavia I can totally understand why people prefer to retreat to summer cottages by a lake or sea. Take a look at this Danish cottage in Furesoen for example. The owner Per has lovingly restored it to create an idyllic lake-side holiday home. I could spend my entire summer here, how about you?!

I love the combination of dark wood and dark blue it has such a calming effect. And that view...!

Mikkel always manages to find the most stunning spaces to capture including the very cool home of a Danish architect and an oh so stunning Danish haven in Cannes. You can take a look through Mikkel's portfolio here.

For more holiday home inspiration I do love the 25 home tours here: rural retreats, and of course there's this idyllic Danish summer cottage. Scandinavian staycations please.

Have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday!

A cool pared-back Berlin apartment

We've finally arrived in the Dordogne after a 2200 km road trip from Sweden. Phew! It was well worth it, it's beautiful here. I hope I can take a few snaps while I'm here and create a post when I get back.   Last year I went on a road trip to Berlin for the first time and I was totally blown away by the German capital. This very cool apartment has a very Scandinavian look and feel: pared back with a white and grey colour theme. I particularly love the children's room (look at that cool bunk bed / den my girls would love one of those!).

Fantastic Frank

I could live here could you?!

I've featured a few fab Berlin homes on here in the past including this one styled by Coco Lapine Design blog,  this fantastic space and a very unique mid-century home. Oh so cool! I can't wait to return to the city again one day soon.

Have a lovely day!
